Aspect Developments has submitted a planning application for a new Co-op convenience store in Kingsteignton, Newton Abbot, as the company continues to grow its portfolio of convenience retail developments across England and Wales.
The proposed scheme will deliver a 420m² store for Co-op Group Ltd on a brownfield site within the urban area, bringing an underserved community closer to quality local food shopping and reducing the need for residents to travel further afield for everyday essentials.
Kingsteignton is a growing town on the outskirts of Newton Abbot, and the development responds directly to the lack of accessible local food provision in the area. The redevelopment of a brownfield site also aligns with broader planning objectives to make efficient use of previously developed land.
The application marks another addition to Aspect Developments’ long-standing relationship with the Co-operative Group, having successfully delivered a number of Co-op convenience stores at locations across Wales in recent years.
